About the Company:

Our client is a leader in the production and manufacturing of metal and steel materials. They have been known for their excellent customer service and delivery of top-quality products to many industries across North America. They have recently opened a large industrial plant and are seeking a Steel Estimator to join their team!

Responsibilities:

– Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications and related documents

– Identify labor, material and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications and related documents

– Compute costs by analyzing labor, material and time requirements

– Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information

– Present prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information

– Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information trends

– Maintain cost database by entering and backing up data

– Build and maintain relationships internally and externally

Requirements:

– 5-7 years of experience in a technical/commercial role, preferably in the ICI -Structural Steel, Mining and Manufacturing or Fabrication industry

– Direct experience with steel processing, with a focus on metal fabrication and steel surface preparation

– AutoCAD, Tekla Stuctures and FabTrol skills are considered an asset

– Excellent written and verbal communication skills

– Ability to work independently, hands on and deliver results within a team environment

– Strong organization skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities and changes
