About the Company:

Our client is an organization responsible for overseeing performance venues in the downtown Toronto area. They are directly responsible for ensuring that all performance venues are running and operating at an efficient rate. They are currently seeking a licensed electrician to join their team.

Responsibilities:

  • Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and electrical code specifications
  • Perform inspections and general maintenance of Building systems
  • Splicing and connecting wires to fixtures and other electrical components to form circuits
  • Testing and troubleshooting circuits to ensure system operates safely
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using various equipment
  • Installation of all types of electrical conduits; watertight, emt, flex, bx & rigid (when required for special applications)
  • Optimize equipment safety, efficiency, and reliability
  • Ensure that work areas are always clean of debris and hazards
  • Perform water treatment chemical testing, critical system testing including base building generators, elevators, fire systems and maintain logbooks
  • Perform other electrical related duties as assigned or required by Director of Facilities or designate

Requirements:

  • Must have industrial electrician (309A) or 442A construction and maintenance ticket
  • BES Level 1 and Level 2 or equivalent; Post-Secondary Education is an asset
  • Minimum 3 years industrial electrical experience
  • Instrumentation or PLC certificate (an asset)
  • Complete knowledge in complex building systems including VAV, HVAC systems, Pneumatic, DDC Systems, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, Building Automation System, e.g. Siemens Control and building security system is an asset
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of building systems and equipment
  • Good interpersonal and oral communications skills
  • Ability to work flexible variable schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
