Road Service Technician

$63,000-$75,000/year

About the Company:

Our client is a supplier of material handling equipment. They have been in the industry for over 60 years and pride themselves on being the largest supplier of material handling solutions in Canada. They are expanding at a rapid pace and are seeking road service technicians to join their team.

Responsibilities:

• Examine overall operational integrity and condition of the trucks
• Find defective or worn out mechanical or electrical parts and communicate repair solutions to the customer
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance
• Diagnose and order parts according to technical manuals
• Document and analyze breakdowns based on standard procedures
• Complete service work orders and obtain customer signature
• Return warranty parts with proper documentation
• Provide answers to customers questions relating to products, parts, and safety related issues

Requirements:

• High school completion or equivalent education proficiency and/or minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician or equivalent related experience
• Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean abstract
• Automotive Certification (310S), Truck and Coach (310T) or Heavy Duty Technician Certification (421A) an asset
• Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems of battery and engine powered material handling equipment
• Experience with industrial equipment that involves lifting / rigging, maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial mechanical service equipment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Customer service oriented
• Effective analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to be flexible and work in a fast paced and changing environment
