Our client is a well-established and one of the largest Canadian engineering and manufacturing company in Hamilton. Operating for more than 20 years, they are known for their strong customer satisfaction and their expertise in the design, development, and integration of power generations, energy storages, and multiple fabrications serving United States and Canada.

They are a seeking a Welder/ Fitter to join their team!

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and diagrams
• Layout, position, align, fit, and secure large structural pieces
• Rig, hoist, and transfer storage areas using overhead cranes and tow motors
• Build patterns or jigs based on specifications
• Analyze materials and organize tasks effectively
• Fit and assemble sections and plates using bolting and riveting methods
• Safely operate heavy duty metal-working machines such as plasma, torchers, saw, iron workers, or grinder
• Keep a clean and safe work environment
• Follow health and safety procedures and regulations
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• 5+ years’ experience as a Fitter
• Relevant experience in a large/heavy custom steel fabrication is preferred
• Educational background in Welding and Fitting is preferred
• Experience within an ISO9001 environment is asset
• Knowledgeable in GMAW, FCAW, SAW welding processes
• Valid CWB ticket
• Able to lift to 75lbs
• Safety conscious and team player
• Strong communication skills and organizational skills
